I'll never capitalize cancer

I have alot going on in my life, more than just cancer and chemo. Sure it's a big part of my life right now, but it's not the most important part of my life. You will never see me spell it with a capital "c".

I'm a Wife and Mom. I love my Family. I have good Friends. We do fun stuff and dumb stuff and sometimes we argue and then we laugh again. We go to work and to the grocery store and we go swimming and have birthday parties and get ready for the first day of school.

I keep saying that I don't want ovarian cancer to define me, but sometimes I just can't help it.

A good friend put it this way for me "cancer may be defining your life for the moment, but it is not your entire life. You seem to just make time for it." That made me feel better.

If you want to see it from the beginning, my cancer story begins in March.

The rest of my story is happening now.

Counting Down to Success School

I can't believe it is almost August already. We have been having a fantastic Summer. Good thing we did Commit2Fit before Summer really got started. It was a great way to drop a few pounds and pick up some good habits to keep fit during beach season.

To be honest, I have not been as consistent as I would like to have been about getting to the gym. And all that great Summertime food. We have enjoyed quite a bit of birthday cake and ice cream, and I already am on my second frequent flyer card from SnoBiz snow cone stand. The MNS Max Apetite Control and Carb Ease have really helped me to control my sugar. A couple of Crave Check before a party is always helpful, too.

I still drink plenty of water. My Meal Replacement Shake for breakfast and Muscle Gain, Snack Bars and Catalyst have helped to get lots of protein in several small meals throughout the day. I am getting my good fats with up to 3 OmegaPlex 3 times a day for a total of 9 each day. I am really paying attention to ingredient labels and, except for the occaisional piece of birthday cake, I have been staying away from enriched bleached flour.

Still, after listening to Jenny Donnelly on the team call , I realize that this really would be a great time to get started with the Lean in 13. Commit2Fit is a great way to learn some healthy habits that I will always keep with me, but Lean in 13 sounds like a good quick, healthy fix.

Lose 5 - 10 pounds or even more in the next 13 days? Sounds good to me! And I would be just finishing up during the weekend at Success School.

What a great story to share with everyone at the AdvoBeach party Saturday night in Dallas.
